In this Project, Pretty Witty Cakes' tutor Grace Stevens shows you how to make a beautiful little handbag perfect for any girl or woman's birthday cake.

Grace shows you how to carve the handbag shape decorate it from beginning to end. The videos will cover everything you need to know about making this cake and the patterning for the fabric. This is a great cake for beginners.

What you will learn

This Project is all about learning to carve cakes into different designs and to create fabric textures. You will learn:

• How to create a paisley effect on your cake board
• How to cover a tall thin cake with fondant
• How to make Dyocel paste
• How to make the handle for the handbag
• How to make the fabric pattern on the side of the handbag and finish it neatly at the edges
• How to create the handbag piping
• How to work with dusts and lustres
• ​How to make the clasp for the bag

​In this video Grace sometimes using toothpicks for support.  With edible cakes you should use spaghetti pasta instead or disclose to the consumer that there are toothpicks being used.
