Overview

In this Project, Pretty Witty Cakes' Guest tutor Rose Macefield shows you how to make this vintage satchel cake which both children and adults will love

This Project is all about cake carving and texture work to learn how to make the bag texture and all the school details. You will learn to make everything in the cake. Rose is a hugely talented tutor and he realism on cake is well know (she won Best in Show at Cake International in 2014). The videos will cover everything you need to know about this style of cake.

What you will learn

This Project is all about making a vintage satchel cake from beginning to end. You will learn:

How to make a vintage satchel cake which looks really realistic!
How to carve the cake
How to cover the cake in fondant (it is a tall cake but with no doweling or supports)
How to make the pockets
How to make a chalk board base
How to make shiny marbles for the board
How to make a leather effect on your fondant
How to make a little satchel teddy
How to make small pieces of edible chalk
How to make the leather effect and the stitching effect
How to make the bag handle and straps
Making a vintage fountain pen
Making a catapult and yoyo to compliment the cake

At the end of the Project you will have a fabulous cake design with lots of new skills including realism skills.

Thanks for the feedback.
