In this Project, Pretty Witty Cakes' Guest tutor Emma Ball shows you how to make her signature wedding top table cake!

This Project is all about people modelling and small details. You will learn to model characters and all the little details on the wedding table. Emma Ball is a hugely talented tutors and one of the best to be showing you how to make this cake. The videos will cover everything you need to know aboutthis style of cake - a very popular choice for weddings

What you will learn

This Project is all about making a top table wedding cake. You will learn:

How to carve a cake into a wedding table shape
Using jam and butter cream so the cake doesn't slip
Crumb coating your cake
Covering your wedding table cake in fondant and a new method for sharp edges which will help those who sometimes tear their fondant!
How to make a wooden wedding room floor for the board
How to model heads, eyes, hands, arms and other features
An in depth lesson on making hands from fondant
An in depth lesson on faces
How to make different hair styles
Painting facial features to create fine details
How to make realistic mouths and noses
How to make clothes like the bride's dress, waistcoats, jackets, suits, twin pieces and details such as ties
How to model a bride, groom, mother, best man and other wedding top table guests
How to make a wedding table cloth for the table and swags
How to make wedding glasses, champagne bottles, profiteroll towers, a chocolate cake, a wedding cake and plates for the top table

At the end of the Project you will have a fabulous cake design with lots of new skills on people modelling which will "wow!" your guests and family.

HI There Sharon ! I will be posting a recipe for you to try ;) , in the meantime a quick tip to moisten the mixture is to substitute and butter/margarine for the same amount in vegetable oil !

Hi Emma, aww thanks for that, so if I use 200g butter/marg I would use 100g butter/marg and 100g oil? - Thanks great tip :-)
