Overview

Our Cupcake & Cake Business Class is aimed at anyone thinking about starting their own cupcake business from home.

Who is this class for?

In particular, the class is aimed at:

Anyone who is fed up with their current job and is dreaming of ditching the 9 to 5 to start their own business from home where YOU are the boss.
Anyone who has been made redundant and is seizing the chance to break into something new but needs a bit of help to get there QUICKLY now their old income has stopped.
Mums or Dads who have decided that they do not want to go back to their old job and want a job which is more FLEXIBLE allowing them to fit their work around their children’s needs.
Budding entrepreneurs who are ready to take the plunge and start up their own cupcake business but who do not want to waste time and money and instead want to start making profits QUICKLY.

MODULE 1: "Before you Begin"

In this module, Suzi covers the key things you need to do before you begin on the road to running your own cake businesses including:

Personal and Home Life Changes
Set Up Costs

All of the topics above are covered in detail with 6 downloadable appendices that support this module in the "Templates" section of this Project.

Who teaches the class?

Suzi teaches the cake business online tutorials based on sell out face to face business classes. Having used the model herself and having taught hundreds of students who have gone on to set up and run highly successful businesses, Suzi knows that her model works - and works well.

Suzi has years of experience working in the cake industry but also draws on 11 years business experience (prior to making cakes) working in some of the most powerful markets in the world. You will gain the benefit of her experience in setting up a cupcake business based on the model of Pretty Witty Cakes but in addition you will benefit from her knowledge gained as a top lawyer in the City of London where she was employed by some of the world’s highest ranking law firms. Suzi also draws on many of the skills she learnt at Oxford university where she obtained a 1st class honours degree.

Unlike live classes, the online cake business tutorials enable you to stop and rewind as much as you like. You can also ask questions any time under the video or in the forum. The business module will consist of a series of up to 50 different parts released over coming months and each part will have it's own set of downloadable templates and precedent documents - all created by Suzi for you to use at home.

What insurances you need and why.
How to run a successful business around your children.
Difficult business partners and/or customers

Because of Pretty witty cakes and the tutorials I set up my own cake business last week, I was given confidence in what I can do, having a business background and trying to work around the children and so many people saying I should set up a cake business!!!! Hi Suzi
Love the business tutorials so far. I drifted into a business initially to do cupcakes, now doing novelty cakes, but feel that because I didn't do any of the planning stage that you've talked about I lack direction. These tutorials have come at just the right time for me to regroup, regain some focus and set myself goals. I love doing this and want it to be successful so thank you.

I really learned and became motivated from this class. I went right out and purchased a ledger, then spent the day recording all my paperwork. Amazing fete, and I feel motivated to continue recording, not putting it off until later. Next I'll work on my putting my business plan on paper and listing my strength and weakness. Hi, I have just watched this video and have a question. We currently have a mortgage on our property, so do I just need to check the property deeds or do I need to check with the mortgage lender at all?

It depends on the lender. Check your lending terms and sometimes you have to have the lenders permission :)

I finally had a chance to watch these tutorials (thanks to a Bank Holiday!) really helpful and so much sound advice. I moved from home to commercial premises and personally it was the best thing I ever did as it helped me achieve the work/life balance and thus work more efficiently. It does not work for everybody, but I have thoroughly enjoyed your business advice as it resonates with all I have always believed it and it has been the foundation for my own business success!
